NFL notebook: Robinson feeling better, still not cleared to play
FLOWERY BRANCH - Falcons coach Mike Smith says while Dunta Robinson is "much better" after suffering a concussion, the cornerback still has not been cleared to play.
Robinson watched practice on Wednesday as he stood on the sideline and talked with staff members. He did not speak with reporters.
Smith says Robinson may be able to "run around" as early as today. Robinson must be cleared by an independent doctor.
Robinson is appealing his $50,000 NFL fine after his hit on Philadelphia receiver DeSean Jackson on Sunday left both players with concussions.
Meanwhile, Smith says backup tight end Justin Peelle will miss four to six weeks following surgery to repair a sports hernia. Michael Palmer moves up as the backup to Tony Gonzalez.
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Brett Favre doesn't want to talk about any subject but the Green Bay Packers, while the NFL is seeking more information about allegations he sent suggestive messages and lewd photos in 2008 to a woman who worked for the New York Jets.

The Vikings quarterback met with NFL vice president for security Milt Ahlerich on Tuesday about his alleged advances toward then-Jets game emcee Jenn Sterger two years ago, when Favre played for New York.
Asked why he hasn't denied the allegations, Favre said: "The one thing I'm going to say is that's something that's within the league, and I'll just have to leave it at that - let that process work itself out."
INDIANAPOLIS - Colts punter Pat McAfee has become an example for his teammates headed into the team's bye week - and not in a good way.
Indianapolis suspended McAfee for one game on Wednesday, a little more than 12 hours after the 23-year-old was arrested for public intoxication. Police said McAfee took a pre-dawn swim in a city canal and told them "I am drunk" as he tried to explain why he was sopping wet in the Broad Ripple neighborhood, a trendy area known for its nightlife.
